Woodland Management & Forestry

What I do

Institute of Chartered Foresters LogoI am a professional member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and can provide you with advice and a range of services. While I've outlined some possible options below, I know that every project is unique and I deal with them all individually. If you're not sure quite what you're looking for, or you're not sure if it's something I can help you with then do get in touch and we can have a chat about it. You could also have a look at case studies of some the projects I've delivered here.

Management Plans

I can work with you to draw up a woodland management plan appropriate for your specific site conditions, management objectives and constraints. This can range from a basic outline, to detailed harvesting plans and maintenance schedules.

Grants & Licence Applications

There are a number of constraints on what you can fell without getting a felling licence from the Forestry Commission. On the other hand, they also provide grants to support a number of woodland operations. I can guide you through the process, and you may even find that you're eligible to apply for a grant to cover some of my time.

Community Woodland Support

Does your community want a woodland? What benefits could a local wood provide for people in your area? I can work with you to assess the potential for local action, and help develop the project and attract funding.

Woodland Creation

Whether you are planting a new woodland, replanting a felled area, or expanding an existing woodland, I can help you design a bespoke planting scheme that will take into account regulatory constraints, your management objectives, and site suitability for different species.
